So, you’ve figured out what problem you want to tackle. What does a good solution even look like? We will be leading you through the second stage of the Creative Problem Solving process (Ideate) so that you walk away with multiple great solutions to the problem you want to solve that will change the world.

Only 25 spots available. RSVP HERE at http://bit.ly/creativity182 to ensure spot. Preference given to those who attended Workshop 1.

Rice 011

Now, you’ve come up with many possible ideas for solving the problem you most want to solve in the world. We will be leading you through the third stage of the Creative Problem Solving process (Develop) so that you walk away with a compelling concept for the Entrepreneurship Cup Concept competition.

Only 25 spots available. RSVP HERE at http://bit.ly/creativity183 to ensure spot. Preference given to those who attended Workshops 1 and 2.

The Creative problem solving process

A research-backed method of identifying and solving very complex problems.

There are four phases, and each phase alternates between divergent and convergent thinking modes. This means that we first generate as many creative ideas as possible without judgment through divergent thinking, and then use convergent thinking methods to refine the ideas into workable solutions.

#Creativity4Invention

event agenda

Works in Progress developed after conversations with 500+ students & was designed with the tiny minority of students working on entrepreneurial projects outside of formal programs in mind. Our operation mainly consists of two full-time staff within the Technology Entrepreneurship program that work on supporting this community part of the time, and we act using lean startup methodology. We operate on personal (one-to-one) rather than transactional (one-to-many) interactions.

Introducing our 2018 Pike Engineering Entrepreneurship Fellows

The Pike Engineering Entrepreneurship Fellows Program is the premier program of its kind at the University of Virginia, providing seed funding and nine months of intensive support, guidance, and mentorship for early-stage University of Virginia student entrepreneurial projects that are based on developing or commercializing some form of novel technology. The culminating event allows student teams to compete for the $50,000 Pike Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
